How did I get here?

Curious about how I got to this idea? You came to the right place! I am 22 years old and grew up here in the south shore of Massachusetts. Both of my parents have owned their own small businesses my entire life. My mom owns Small Scholars Preschool out of downtown Plymouth. I have watched her grow this company for the past 20 years. Starting in the basement of the first house I can remember to now being nestled in the heart of Americas hometown, she has definitely taught me that with a little bit of hard work and drive you will grow out of anything pot you are planted in. As she always says “you grow through what you go through”. My dad has owned and operated numerous handyman businesses including refurbishing furniture and woodwork with Robinson Rustic. He is always the number one person I call when I need something fixed. I am pretty sure my answer to most questions in life is “Let me call my dad”. My whole life my dad has told me “start your own business” over and over. Well, the man is very convincing.

I am the oldest child and I have one young brother who is the absolute best. He happens to be nearly 9 years younger than me so I get the gift of remembering every moment of his life. From the nightmare that was watching my parents potty train him to now congratulating him on acing his mid-terms. I wouldn’t be the person I am today without my little brother. He’s the kind of kid that can pick up a skate board for the first time and absolutely nail it, which was extremely annoying when we were younger but now looking back he’s made me believe I can do anything too.

This new business is not all that new to me however, as I have previously mentioned I have been managing a handful of social medias for the past 4 years. Capital Spa in Carver has been my biggest project by far. The owner has become an unrelated aunt in my life and has really solidified that “I can do that” mentality. You can see some of my previous work I did for her in my portfolio and that will be forever updating with new posts.

So, with my parents essentially putting business owning in my DNA, the unwavering “I can do that” ability I have picked up from my younger brother, and the support I have from the most important people in my life, here I am; diving head first, fearless, into this journey.
